Ibn Hazm al-Andalusi (May Allah have mercy upon him)

I like this quote a lot, so I have used it twice!

Ibn Hazm al-Andalusi (May Allah have mercy upon him) said, "If you look deeply into worldly matters you will become melancholy and will end up reflecting upon the ephemeral nature of everything here below, and the fact that truth lies only in striving for the hereafter, since every ambition to which you might cling will end in tears; either the goal is snatched from you, or you have to give the attempt up before you reach it. One of these two endings is inevitable except the search for God the Almighty the Powerful. Then the result is always joy, both immediate and eternal. The immediate joy is because you stop worrying about things which usually worry people; this leads to an increase in the respect paid to you by friends and enemies alike. The eternal joy is the joy of paradise." In pursuit of virtue.

Dowra notes Five
(Dua)

All praise to you who have gathered here

These beauties will not but be transfused in a heart unless it’s pure

Knock on Allah’s door

These gifts don’t come to anyone

His companions used to yearn for you, Allah, until they couldn’t control themselves

O one who gave them this character, give us

Allahs generosity has no limits

We seek his assistance and asking him for Help.

Hearts differ in their truthfulness in their seeking of him

He gives even to those who are lacking in their request

O Allah show us your blessings and be generous with your gift

How many hearts that is free from these desires

We raise our hands to you, to every individual to those who believe in you, Guide their hearts

O Allah we ask you for help and when this assistance come we will not suffer from problems

Everyone will find the result of what he intended, money.

Those who are veiled have a bad opinion of Allah

On the day of judgement Allah will ask, “To who is the dominion today.”

May Allah allow you to drink from the reality of his kingdom

None of the Prophet s works or actions are small they are mighty

Revive the hearts, O’ one who gives live to hearts

How can you forget Allah, his law, his books

Where is truth to other than him

How can you disobey the one who created you

Disobedience is your end, it your punishment

O’ Allah grant us fear of you

O’ people of La illa ill illah, he calls you, to his reality

From listening to empty soaps and tv and useless work, if you do this you will be cut off and you are in need

Remember him in open and in secret

Your messenger told you what to say in your days

Why don’t you remember him in every state

There is only difficult with the one doesn’t remember Allah

Make us ones how remember you

Prepare yourself for difficulties of this world

O ones who have left the prayer and fasting, your scared of the rockets, the tribulations have come and you are laughing

This is the problem because of the have forgotten Allah

O Allah save us

He is with us when we pray, fast and give money without expecting it back

What power stands before Allah

Whose door are the people going to stand at, you never turn anyone away
You gather hearts on Islam after all this time

O Allah give us a truthful light

O Allah have mercy as I continue to stand at your door, he is my companion at the day and the night

The knowledge of my Lord is significant for me

Prayer

This is one the months where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would fast (Rajab)

This is the month of Miraj

Why did it take so long for the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) to meet Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala? Because his heart was washed four times, he was purified internally and externally

This is a reminder to purify by wudu

And the salat was given in to him when he (peace and blessings be upon him) reached a state of purity

Prayer has a purpose

When the people die and they will resurrected, the prayer will be the first thing taken into account, if they are successful they will be successful in the rest

Salat is loyalty, it has to be based on truth

The greatest stealer is the one who steals in prayer

After your prayer, ask yourself has it had any effect on you?

There was a companion who was praying Tahajjud and an enemy say him and shot him several times with arrows, he didn’t feel it, he was in prayer.

The prayer of a person who prays in time and completes all the actions correctly, the prayer will be taken and it will say, “You have preserved me and Allah preserve you.” When a person prays out of the time and when the prayer is weak and incomplete the prayer goes up and says, “You have neglected me may Allah neglect you.”

Dowra notes Four

Tayamum (Shafi)

If he has no water with a distance of a mile, to find wood, he can do tayumum

A traveller can wipe leather socks for 3 days and a resident for one

When the time is up he has to take them off and do wudu again

Someone can only shorten prayers that are 4 rakats

In shafi madhab they can pray sitting on a plane

Our seeking of forgiveness needs another asking for forgiveness because of our state

Don’t listen to your naafs, don’t listen to it

Our own naafs can deceive you more than all the armies of satan

Dowra notes three

Guidance for the Spiritual path

Its upon you to purify the defects in you

Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala Angels glorify you

What this means is that we have made us holy for you

Our intentions need to be pure and holy in order to proceed

There is something greater than the heart and that is that the fight against your self and this is a struggle and people have got to Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala

They are with Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala in all circumstances and states

Those who were delayed in going to battle, they share our status in not going out for Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala

There will be a day, when nothing will benefit us except a pure heart

The Purity of the heart is a great affair and he should not think about anyone except Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala

When the heart prostrates to Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala then it never raises its head

O Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala ask you to make this a reality

We need to get up and practice and we need to give the Habib (Umar) time to rest

Aa man who removes something in the way of people is like the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) who removed things from the road and make it easy for us

The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said that Taqwa is here and he pointed to his heart three times

This is an affair of the hearts and the souls

All that he has explained, the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) was perfect inwardly and outwardly

If people love beauty, love the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him), if you love perfection, here is the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him)

If you love courage here is the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him), if you love generosity, love the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him), He gave a valley full of cattle to a man

They is no area except that the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) perfected himself in it

A companion was changed when he heard the Quran, it said:
O you slave disobeying Allah, turn to Allah and repent to your guardian and its nothing else but to connect yourself to the Prophet. (peace and blessings be upon him) This should be our state

O Allah forgive us, we have looked at the Haram, forgive us, what we have done and veil our shortcomings

Validity of Hadith as a source for sacred law

To those brothers who say that they just follow the Quran, there are ninteen different Suras, where obedience to Allah subhnau wa ta'ala and his Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) are ordered.

Sacred knowledge

The Deen of Islam is the greatest blessing on the planet

One of the obstacles that we face in society is when we don’t have knowledge

We don’t have enough educators in this Deen

A scholar said one of the greatest door that satan enters upon a Muslim is ignorance

We cannot build a house without consulting a constriction expert

We don’t have a strong link with Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala and his Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)

We need scholars in our community, they are the cement and this brings unity and without that, we have disunity

Learning knowledge is an act of worship

Knowledge is an act of the soul and it empowers us against satan

If we neglect knowledge than we neglect our society

We need scholars to preserve the Deen

Today we have mosques and Masjids but bricks and mortar aren’t going to teach our kids

Once a companion built a roof over the masjid and when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) found out, he didn’t look at the companion and when he asked what was wrong. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said I was told that you build this roof structure, he said yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) now is not the time

We should designate money for youngsters to go study

We need to encourage our young to learn the Deen

We have to do this now as we might not have the chance because we might not be able to go to these countries later

The person who say that he doesn’t want to learn because then he would have to follow, this person gets two punishments. The person who finds out but doesn’t do it gets one, even if he weak in following up gets one

Habib Umar (trans) Sheikh Yahya Rhodus 19-07

Dowra notes two

What other basin will you go to? Other than the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him)

Scholars when they are travelling

Who doesn’t recognise blessings in his life, they will be taken from them, we have to know the reality of blessings

It’s permissible for a scholar to take money if he has no other method (when travelling)

In an hadith the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said, “Don’t let anyone eat your food except a person of Taqwa.”

There are different types of awilya some can travel great distances, others have different skills

Some scholars chose to travel others did not

Others travelled then stayed somewhere, others travelled and kept travelling

Some students would travel from great distances for one word what about if you learned a sentence. Jabir ibn Abdullah went to Egypt for a hadith about a student who travels for knowledge who is the path of Allah until he returns

They went to meet other scholars and knowledge

Sometimes students can be benefit from a glance, whoever glance doesn’t benefit then his words doesn’t benefit. In other words he will teach by actions rather than words

Whoever doesn’t act on the knowledge he has, his words will be from his hawa (lower passions)

Every student he meets increases that student

The people of certainty speak with their actions more than the words that they say

A glance is beneficial

The one who works from knowledge, he will speak with light

Merely looking at the scholars of knowledge is a benefit itself

It will destroy the impurity in your hearts

The scholars have this ability to look at an individual and they can see their sincerity

The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) “The evil eye is true.”

Looking at someone with evil eye has an effect, so what about the good look of a gnostic it can have a good effect

Turtles have the ability to look at their eggs and this will make them hatch, what about the glance of a true Gnostic

It’s as if they look at someone their look will benefit from them

Some scholars would look at people and see if they where being looked at

They want to teach their souls to taste things that they are not comfortable with so they can get a reward with Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala

One of their intentions they make is that they want to over come their hawa

Their true character will only show when you travel with them

When your tired it is harder to have good character, it is easy to be good when you’re at home and this impacts the soul of the traveller and this is the training

A person will travel all over the place so he can leave the pleasures of the world

The way to attain victory in this world is to remember Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala and read the stories of the righteous and attach our hearts to them

If a man has a lot of whispering of satan, he shouldn’t leave the prayer

We should know that Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala dislikes people to have bad opinion of people and he will punish for it, have a good opinion even if it be evil people

Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala will take people into account not you

To find out who is good scholar you should see good character and good state

We should have a good opinion of people and even if we see them doing bad we should find excuses for them

Habib Umar trans Sheikh Yahya Rhodus 18-07

Arif Al Marif (dowra notes part one)

Chapter; The Sufis will be in a good state until they accept the bad things

May Allah protect and establish the schools

So we can preserve the deen

Beneficial knowledge will be taught

Not for other reason except to get close to Allah Subhnau wa Ta'ala

The people who will have the most remorse on the day of the judgement are the ones who had the opportunity to study but didn’t

If you have the ability to study use it

Use it as a means to get closer to Allah Subhnau wa Ta'ala

And we ask him to purify our intentions

When the ignorant people sat they sat, because they sought knowledge for an ulterior motives and are not sincere

This person only is veiled and gains nothing except distance

If he has a bad opinion of people he could be cut off from blessings

We have to see the blessing of the people off our time and not expect too much

The reality is that if someone sees something outside that he doesn’t its because of the reality of the time that we are in

The one people who arrive to Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala are the ones who Allah Subhnau wa Ta'ala wishes to arrive to him

The early people had aspects of the legality and they had a pure human nature

A good opinion strengths his heart and he had a bad opinion it will be bad for him

There is benefit in having good opinion for a person but don’t help a person to do bad (evil)

Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala will give you help if you do this

If you have a bad opinion then this is bad manners, if the person who has a bad opinion is wrong when he right. As is illustrated when Osama ibn zaid (May Allah Ta’ala be pleased with him) killed the person who said the Shahada

Don’t spy on your neighbours

The person who thinks he is better than others, will be the first to be destroyed

The Sahileen are those who see their deficiencies

The righteous are the ones who don’t belittle others

The people of truth don’t think about harming other people and don’t think about attaining something by taking it from others, this is brotherhood

We don’t mean everyone has to have the same madhab etc, in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) there were different opinions and he (peace and blessings upon him) confirmed them all

The one who says we have to get rid of the legal opinions (schools) is the one who hasn’t thought about it well

We have outward difference but we have mercy in our hearts and we are united under the shahada

Its incumbent to get together for the sake of Allah Subanu wa Ta'ala

To unify the Muslims is not to remove what differs but to arrange things to work together and have a mutual organisation and the respect each and help each other

The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said, “Indeed, the believer are like one body. If one part is in pain then the whole body is in pain.” Whoever who doesn’t feel the pain of the Muslims, he could be sick and he feels the pain of the tribulation of the Muslims

Just as you see the evil people spread drugs, tribalism, nationalism amongst the earth, its as if they want the Muslim body to be paralysed and not feel a thing

Its customary for them to rectify the wrong beliefs of a member

If we get people to differ this will bring people to differ and satan will enter

The Sufis will be in a good state until they accept the bad things

None of them will get the doors open if they differ and they will force apologies from others

Umar ibn Khattab ( May Allah be pleased with him ) said, “May Allah be merciful for the one who shows me my faults.”

As if a scorpion is on your shoulder or in your bed, our faults are like scorpion in our graves we should be grateful for someone who points out your faults

Umar (May Allah Ta’ala be pleased with him) once asked Salman al Farsi (May Allah Ta’ala be pleased with him) about his faults, who refused at first and when Umar (May Allah Ta’ala be pleased with him) insisted, Salman (May Allah Ta’ala be pleased with him) said you eat two loaves and change your clothes in the middle of the day. Umar (May Allah Ta’ala be pleased with him) said that after today both these things will stop.

Where is the Mutual advice of today?

May Allah be merciful to persons who gives me a gift by showing me my faults

This is how Umar (May Allah Ta’ala be pleased with him) used to gather the companions (May Allah Ta’ala be pleased with them) and ask then he used ask, if he could accept some dispensations, they said that they would correct him and he was very happy with them

If someone comes to you with fire in his heart and you must put out his fire with the water from your heart and don’t add fire from your heart

The sign of bad character is if we complain about others bad character, if we hide other faults and this is better for us

Its upon the sheikh to rebuke the students who rebuke people with his naafs, why didn’t you approach that person with your heart? Good and evil are not equal, repel evil with good

The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said, “Show mercy you and will be shown mercy.”

If a brother who doesn’t accept an apology he gets a sin upon him

Its dangerous for a person not to accept an apology

Don’t have anything in your heart and a person who goes to someone and apologise that person will have his heart enlighten by Allah

The person who doesn’t accept the sin of his brother

The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said, “The person who doesn’t accept the excuse of a person. Will not come to my hawd, let him find another hawd.”

Sheikh Ibrahim Osi Efa

Advice and the Shamil Tirmdi

All of what humanity knows is not much

Not much of not much

Knowledge has its threshold – you have to pay your tax

The tax of knowledge is to teach

The word for man in Arabic Rajl comes from the word Rijl which means leg and a man is a person who is upright

Its upon you to travel to find knowledge

Ignorance is a lack of knowledge

People do what they do on the basis of knowledge or lack of

The religion revolves around people of knowledge

Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is not illiterate

He (peace and blessings be upon him) was in a society where literary was not valued, the Oral Prophet

The word katba (to write) means to gather

Iqra means to recite, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “What shall I recite?” (Not, I cannot recite) That what it means

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala to show him truth as truth and so he could follow it

We don’t take religion from non-believers

This affair is beyond us

We take from classical sources

We are a people of justice we don’t do what they do

Sending a rocket indiscriminately into people, where does this come from? Its like a plate of pork and saying Bismillah (You can't do that!)

It took the companions (may Allah be pleased be them) 15 years before they were given the order to fight

Classical Islam is trying to put yourself into a context

Our disease is love of the world, that’s why people do (things with) drugs

Wrench the world out of your heart

And you’ll love to die, so you could meet your Lord

The ultimate way to change our condition is by taking the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as an example

He (peace and blessings be upon him) is the cure for every ill in this society

The earth was folded up for him (peace and blessings be upon him) and he knew what would happen to us

There is no tongue better than the tongue of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

Someone who doesn’t posses a thing can’t give it

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “O Allah make amongst the few.”

Some scholars would be so busy learning and reading, they would ask their wife’s to feed them

Imam Ahmed (May Allah be pleased with him) relates that he saw Allah in his dreams 99 times, if this is the amount he saw Allah, how may times did he see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?

If we see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in our sleep and we shall see him in real life

Some people have seen him

Its about cleansing the heart until it manifests

Imam Ahmed (may Allah be pleased with him) saw Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala and asked how do we approach you? Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala said, “By my book.” “With understanding or without?” Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala said, “With understanding or without.”

There are blessings even if you don’t understand

Angels search for groups of remembrance

The sham’il is looking at the essence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

We have to inculcate what he (peace and blessings be upon him) inculcated

(Why do) we speak about Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala what we don’t understand?

Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) said, "Our inability to know Allah is the correct understanding of him."

Without the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) we would all be on the wrong path

Imam Tirmidi (May Allah be pleased with him) was a student of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (may Allah be pleased with them)

When you don’t begin with bismillah the action is cut off, hacked off, (removed from blessing)

If you go to the Middle East know about classical or traditional Islam

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Isnad is from the Deen.”
(Isnad – chain of transmission going back to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him))

If there’s no chain of transmission, there’s no Deen

Then why would the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) take from Gibril (upon him peace)

When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed the lote tree, Gibril stayed back and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Is this what a friend does to a friend?” Gibril said, “If I was to go forward one iota, I would combust.” Where did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) go into the divine presence and then the prayer was given to him

Take good from the beautiful

Symmetry means a lack of change

Halq means physical creation from which comes from a state of non-existence

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “I don’t fear Shirk for you.”

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is created in order to remind, he is the greatest created act ever, every created act comes from him

It is as if the day of judgement is his day (peace and blessings be upon him)

A childs hair will turn grey, as the Quran tells us

If Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala showed some of his countenance to us, everything would be scorched

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the intermediary, you cannot get to Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala except by the door of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

We have to understand language

He is the embodiment of perfect Character, (peace and blessings be upon him)

He was a walking Quran, the Quran is uncreated

When you see people walk like him (peace and blessings be upon him) then our situation will change, overnight

On the day of judgement he is Ahmed because Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala is the focus that day

Why wouldn’t you call him Syed?

The problems of this world are because of the people of the sunna and its our fault for letting people go astray

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “If you find good thank Allah, if you find other than that blame yourself.”

He (peace and blessings be upon him) could never say a bad word that’s why he used the word “other”

Don’t blame anyone but yourself

The world is a reflection of yourself

We will be raised on your own, driven to a place on your own, judged on your own
When we will driven it will be in silence and the only sound you’ll hear is the sound of the feet moving up and down (like the sound of clothes rustling)

All the eight people who described the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) are children

The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) couldn’t look him in the face

Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) couldn’t describe the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) except by the word beauty

When the women saw Yusuf (upon him peace) they cut their hands, Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) said if they had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) they would’ve cut out their hearts

12 questions where asked by the companions (May Allah be pleased with them) all of them where answered by the Quran

When bedions where in town, the companions (May Allah be pleased with them) would gather people to see the bedions, because they would ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) questions

If someone shows you love, how can you go against his word? How can you disobey?

Love isn’t on the tongue, its on the heart

We love him but we don’t want to meet him at the mizan (scales that will weigh up our good and bad actions). We want a light judgement

The bridge goes over hell (we have to go over hell to get to heaven)

One day, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was looking for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), she looked everywhere and found him in Baqi (graveyard). He was praying and in prostration he was saying, “My nation, my nation.” He kept repeating this. (He is concerned about us)

Take your knowledge from men not children

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was 6 foot tall and Umar ibn khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was 8 foot tall

One of his miracle was that anyone who walked with him, didn’t seem taller than him

On the 12th Rabi al awall, his (peace and blessings be upon him) birthday was in the cave of Hira, when he got the revelation

Sura Hud and Sura Waqiah gave the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) white hairs

He is a universal Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so that he can be attractive to all nations

Ali ibn Abu Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) used to shave his hair because he said that between each hair was a sin

He (peace and blessings be upon him) has a body beautiful, it was in perfect proportion

Manners of the Masjid

This world is a means to get closer to Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is waiting for us on the other side

Glorify the sacred in Islam like the Masjid

Ibn Hajja mentions twenty intentions of going to the Masjid

Prepare yourself for entering the Masjid

One should be in a state of dhikr

This is a time to bring yourself into account

Ibn Mashish said, "I seek help from you, to you. I seek assistance from you, to you."

Make your intention: I have left my house for nothing except for the sake of Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala

And Ask: I ask you for protect from the fire and to enter heaven

Ibn Hajja said when you intent to leave for the Masjid you should lower your gaze

When you enter the Masjid ask Allah to forgive your sins

Ask him to open his doors of mercy

Pray 2 units of prayer - even before you sit

Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to stop people using the Masjid as a pathway, by entering one entrance and exiting by another

We have been ennobled by Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala to place our faces on the places that the companions walked, in the Masjid Nabi

Give salat on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), give salams to those present, even if there is something there

Don't speak about worldly matters in the Masjid

Don't spit or walk in front of anyone

Remove filth

Don't bring children to the Masjid that are not toilet trained

Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala is the owner of the Masjid, would you like someone to come into your house and disrespect it?

You can spit in the Masjid if its sand and you can easily hide it

People who enter the Masjid are the people of Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala and the people of Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) are the people of hadith

Keep the Masjid tidy

Its not permissible to bring weapons into the Masjid, in the Hanafi madhab its an act of apostasy to do so. It will instil fear into people who are in the Masjid

Its not permissible to kill anyone in the Masjid

The etiquettes of the Masjid are very high

The woman who used to clean the Masjid of the Prophet, died. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed over her grave and he saw her in a dream cleaning a Masjid in heaven

Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala is the host of the house and we are the guests

Sheikh Saad Al Attas

Section from Qadi Iyad's As Shifa

From page 234.

A person with a strong intention will be rewarded with knowledge in accordance to his intention

Qadi Iyad wrote (the Shifa) to restore the love of the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him)

It was for our sake (so we realise his rights)

The blossoming of the love for the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) is from the inward, not from the outward

This book was read whilst calamites befell the Muslims

When the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) is present, the doors of calamity are closed by Allah (Subhanu wa Ta’ala)

Reading the hadith is like sitting in the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him)

We can’t only rely on this, we need to implement what we have read

Honouring the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) is the greatest sign of god fearing and faith

Anyone who doesn’t respect the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) is destined for destruction

He (peace and blessing be upon him) will be a witness over the Umma

The Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said, “The rewards of my nation have been shown to me. The smallest good work was to remove something from the mosque.”

Someone shouldn't raise his voice over the voice of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him), when you listen to his hadith, listen to the narration

The further we move away from the time of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him), the more we need his love

The light of his love was passed from generation to generation

The help is still needed, so help the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him), with the work he would’ve done

We have manners with everyone, not complete their words before they would

A true scholar is the one practices what he preaches

If we are distant from him (peace and blessing be upon him), he is distant from us

If we something without respecting the Sunna, the result would be a catastrophe, devoid of success

We address the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) with the greatest respect

The smaller the man becomes in the sight of people, the higher that he goes to Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala and vice versa

The companions (May Allah be pleased with them) spoke to the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) only when they had questions

The 13 questions of the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) are recorded in the Quran

The Quran states that the people would loose their works, if they speak badly to the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him)

The ignorant are those who don’t absorb or understand

When Abu bakr and Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) heard this, they lowered their voices until people couldn’t hear them

We should respect our scholars of our time

Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala will make our actions worthless, if we disrespect the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him)

If someone shows disrespect to the words of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) then show them how to respect them

The Jews used to swear at the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) by mixing up the Arabic and Hebrew

The Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) gives us exactly what we need

The reward for a good deed for the Umma of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) is worth 10, (of the nations before us)

Anas ibn Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) gardens used to give fruit twice a year and he saw one hundred of his offspring, because the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) prayed for him (3 things, plenty of provision, offspring and forgiveness). He used to say, “I am waiting to be forgiven by Allah.”

We smile first and then they smile

They used to listen to him quietly with their heads bowed, in respect for him (peace and blessing be upon him)

In Hanafi fiqh, blood is filth and cannot be drunk.

You cannot take anything from Mecca or Medina unless you live there

To rub a Syed is permissible but shows disrespect

Khalid ibn walid (may Allah be pleased with him) lost a turban during a battle, he fought to get it back and lost a lot of men. The turban had some hairs of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) in it

A companion was captured and tortured, he was asked, “Would you rather that Muhammad be in your place and you at home?” He said, “No, by Allah I don’t wish that a thorn would touch the foot of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him)

Talha ibn Ubaydllah (may Allah be pleased with him) had eighty plus wounds on him (from protecting the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) at the battle of Uhud.)

There was once a woman who was shaking and trembling, the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said, “Be calm woman.” She was transformed to her normal state

Sheikh Abdullah fatah Al Ghuddah said, “Raising your voice indicates a lack of respect, when you talk to people.”

Greet youngsters and old people

If you act like a humble person, you will become humble

The Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) restored the humanity to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and showed them that the world meant nothing, he was sent to give life to people

Respecting his (peace and blessing be upon him) house, is respecting him

Qadi Iyad (may Allah show him mercy) (how to make a dua),
1. praise Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala,
2. send prayers onto the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him),
3. ask for you need,
4. Prayers on the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) in the middle and in the end

Different opinions in Islam cater for different peoples in different places

You can follow a Madhab but not the dispensations that remove one from the circle of responsibility

Its an enormity to relate a fabricated hadith (unless it is to warn)

Ahmed ibn Hanbal said, “I prefer weak hadiths over the words of men.” (The words of men meant here are the scholars of his time)

Words came out of the mouth of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) like light, in a subtle gentle way

Imam Malik issued a fatwa for a Qadi to be jailed for relating a hadith standing up

The Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said, “Fatima is a part of me.”
(Anyone who harms her, harms him.)

Before the battle of khandaq, the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him), “I will give the flag to someone Allah and his Messenger loves.” Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) wished it was he and stood on his tiptoes – to be noticed. Ali (May Allah be pleased with him) came in, he was not expected as he had an illness in his eye. The Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) put some of his saliva into Ali’s eye and he could see better than he could before.

Once the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) was giving a Khutba and someone came to ask him a question, he came down from the Minbar, a chair was brought out and he answered all the questions that the man had. He only returned to the Khutba when it was clear that the man was satisfied.

There are two types of love: rational love (beginning) and true love (end)

He who is obedient to Allah and his Messenger will be with the Prophets, martyrs and the truthful

The reason why we ask Allah Subhanu wa Ta’ala to bless the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him), is because whatever we could say, it wouldn’t be enough

The Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) never ate raw onions or garlic, it ok to eat them cooked

Keep ones breath fresh because the angels take the Fatiha from the mouth

Ibn Ata’llah says the archers who deserted the flank at the battle of Uhud wanted to get the booty, so they could give it away in charity

Jihah al Ghifari broke the staff of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) during the caliphate of Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). He died from a flesh-eating disease

Someone who takes a hadith and practices it, its as if they have a lock of hair of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him).

This is the inheritance of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) is knowledge.

We need to get that knowledge.
